Borussia Dortmund's incredible 2023/24 European journey has put them within one step of lifting the UEFA Champions League. Donyell Malen's first-half strike earned Borussia Dortmund a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie.
A Look Back at Dortmund's Impressive Run
Dortmund began their European campaign in the UEFA Champions League group stage, where they finished top of Group G ahead of Manchester City, Sevilla, and FC Copenhagen. They then defeated Chelsea in the round of 16, before dispatching Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.
In the semi-finals, Dortmund faced off against Bayern Munich in an all-German clash. Despite losing the first leg 2-1 in Munich, Dortmund produced a stunning comeback in the second leg, winning 3-1 at home to secure their place in the final.
The Road to the Final
Dortmund will now face Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final, which will be held at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on June 10, 2024. Manchester City will be looking to win their first-ever Champions League title, while Dortmund will be aiming to lift the trophy for the third time.
